Library in Mngwangwa

Even though we are still waiting for some repairs in the library door, we have helped pastors Thoko and Nixon gather several dozen books for a children’s library, including mandatory elementary school books that families cannot afford. We’ve also gathered many Bibles and a full set of New Testament commentaries so that the Mngwangwa library will be able to serve the children, adults, and church leadership. We look forward to hearing how this library becomes a blessing to this community.

Working with Mrs. Selemani

Mrs. Selemani worked as a nurse for the Malawi government for 20 years, then after retiring from that work, she worked at ABC Clinic for another 12 years. When she retired from private hospital work this spring, she reached out to Christina to see how she can be involved in community outreach. She attended our training for young women in Mngwangwa this month, and she has decided with Thoko that she should come to the village two Saturdays per month to mentor the young women in sewing and to lead them through Community Health Evangelism materials. She also attended a training to gain leadership on teaching young women about preparing for motherhood and godly lives. There have been some setbacks in schedules due to funerals and other issues, but we are looking forward to seeing how this partnership works out over the next 6 months. Please pray for wisdom and strength for Mrs. Selemani as she seeks to bring hope and healing to the girls in Mngwangwa.
